I took mine out because they were rusted, but the replacement screws I bought don't quite fit. And I've tried a good handful of screws. Don't laugh, but can I look up a part number for these and order them? Wish I'd taken them out and used a rust remover on them instead.
Doesn't matter while you have the door cup lifted up you see the plate that it screws into take a set of pliers angle channel locks whatever and squeeze on that hole flatten that piece of metal out now about any screw you want will go in there put it in by hand please
Yeah, here's what I see. Wondering if the plastic part is actually hindering the screw. What am I supposed to squeeze to flatten?'
I don't think that thing is plastic it's called the slide nut or something like that sometimes you can squeeze the side that doesn't have the hole in it that has the little slots and the smaller hole for the screw to catch usually they'll work with a range of screws anyway so maybe someone's blasted something in this one before I don't know You know these are the same thing that come with speakers and all that you slide them onto the lift and they go through the hole and make the connection You can't overtighten them and you shouldn't be in this location anyway You can also get some little bit fat or stainless steel units that have a socket head cap screw in them that's rounded kind of like a license plate bolt with the wood screw threads but not quite that big around on the threads yeah no need for that I know.
What I need to get rounded up and uses those safety screws like they use in the bathroom to mount hand dryers and wash pumps and things like that to have a little key that goes on and that catches the waves in the flat on top of the bolt so you could put that in and then crap wouldn't get in the Phillips slots but this is overthinking that nonsense too much.
