Can anyone help with my car? I took to dealer. They couldn't find any problem with it
and the noise is coming from SOS system or the sun roof controller.
I have search everywhere and went to 3 different local auto shop no body can't help me since it doesn't happened every time so each time when the car is at the dealer or the auto shop It just won't make that noise
It doesn't allow me to put youtube link on here.

Does it occur only when your iPhone is in the car?
That might explain why does not happen when you are not in the car.
Try turning off the iPhone so it doesn't pair to the car and see if you can create the sound.

We have exactly the same problem in our 2019 Prius. Happens about every 4th to 8th start so it's easily reproduced except that you can't just do it 4 to 8 times in a row. You need to wait at least a few minutes between each start. Was just about to make an appointment at the dealer since we have a zero deductible platinum Toyota warranty. The problem goes away entirely when you pull the SOS fuse but then the bluetooth microphone stops working so that's not a long term solution.

Also, when it happens, if you stick it into drive or reverse really fast, it stops it immediately, otherwise it runs about 2 to 3 seconds in length.

I searched about a year ago and no reports of it so I thought it must be rare but now I see you're having the same problem.

BTW, I noticed you have a power cable run in the headliner or a dashcam. We do as well. I'm certain the dealer with blame the problem on this first. I'll need to remove the cable prior to bringing it in.

Your SOS subscription is not active. If you renew it, the problem will go away. After some additional research, I've found other instances with other Toyotas. Same problem but happened when their SOS subscription expired and then stopped when they renewed. Our also started in September which was right around the time that Toyota sent us multiple renewal requests that our 3 years had just expired.

I have a 2022 and this happens randomly. Loud piercing sound that lasts 2 to 3 seconds. I swear my ears are damaged. Dealer won’t do sh*t since they can’t reproduce it on the spot.

I am having this exact issue with my 2021 Prius Limited with it lasting 2-3 seconds at start up. It is a really ear piercing sound. it happens more and more frequently, but not every time. Pulling the SOS fuse #48 under the hood fixed the noise, but the microphone stopped working. Did anyone ever find a permanent fix for this issue? Thanks.

I'll post a negative to this problem and add that I do indeed renew my Safety Connect subscription every year. Heck of way to encourage participation though.

I still have not found a way to get the noise to stop without pulling the SoS fuse and no longer having a microphone that works. Connecting your phone is pointless now since you cant talk through your cars system. Super annoying and frustrating. Has anyone found another solution to this issue?

My 2019 Prius LE has developed the same problem. SOS is flashing (no subscription), and there's sometimes a loud screaming noise for 2 seconds when I push the start button. An expert mechanic ran diagnostics and told me that they didn't show anything. The Toyota dealership says that they never heard about this problem and there has been no bulletin about it. They suggest that I pay for a diagnostic.

The good news is that I think I figured it out the root cause and have a simple solution:

I noticed that the sound only occurs when my wife is getting into the passenger seat at the moment that I'm pushing the start button. The right front door is still open, or she has just closed it. I urge anyone who has experienced this same noise to assess whether or not they also notice the same correlation. If so, there is a simple solution:

    Get a divorce!
