Hello I have a 2014 Toyota Prius with 480,000 kilometers, and I've started having an issue where the ABS, handbrake, and VSC lights. The vehicle also beeps, and the brakes are very hard to press. I experienced a similar issue before, but without the beeping, and the brakes were fine. That problem was resolved when I replaced the angle sensor and spring clock. Now, I’m wondering if you have any suggestions on what to check before I replace the master brake cylinder. The part number I need is 47210-47480. Also, is it possible to use a part that only has the first five digits matching? (47210) ty
If it's like the US models, you can read the brake trouble codes this way, if you do not have a scan tool to use. Blink (a/k/a Flash) Codes – How to. | PriusChat The first five digits, like 47210-, are the "PNC" in Toyota-speak and only identify what kind of part it is. So PNC 47210 might be a master cylinder / booster, but they could have a ton of those for different vehicles, all being different in the last five digits. So, in answer to the question, no, you can't just match the first five.
I don’t remember the codes, and the car isn’t nearby now. The trouble seems to come and go. it's can disappears after I drive, but then returns the next day. If I reset from the OBD, the issue goes away, but it comes back after a day. My question is that the problem could be not the master brake?
Next time the car is nearby again and the lights come on, you can find out what the trouble codes are, and post them here.
