Does anyone know what this is for? It's on the bottom of the doors of my 2024 Prius Limited. I tried to find something in the manual, but haven't figured it out.

Pretty sure is is a collision protection device that locks the lower door into the rocker panel to prevent intrusion into the passengers compartment during severe collisions. Just my opinion.
