Hey Folks: I just installed a new aux battery in my 2005 Prius, and went to set the maintenance expiration date as March 2024, but it seems the latest date I can enter is 2022. That's 17 years from 2005, awfully close to 16 which would tell me Toyota is dedicating only 4 bits for the year. That's kind of crazy in the world of 32 bit microcontrollers in use in the early 21st cen. Has anyone else run into such an issue in their Gen 2? Is my car's date based maintenance scheduling functionality going to die in 2024, or will I be able to continue to schedule maintenance on a miles basis only and not date? If this is a real issue, is there a software patch for the Gen 2 that addresses this? Andrew 2005 Prius. 48 MPG average tank measured by gas consumed.
Is there a solution for the calendar date issue? My recently acquired 2007 Prius Touring has a current year of 2005 and I can't figure out how to even manually change the date.
