Perhaps a little more complicated this time though.... .....they are carrying a payload! - SpaceX - Launches
. Am I misunderstanding something here?!? Didn't the last Space-X POS blow the fvck up last week?!? Wasn't that the second straight failure this year for egon mush's mars rocket program?!? Who the fvck is still willing to be a test-dummy for that program?!?
. After 2 in a row blow the fvck up ... I would generally think about waiting for a successful flight or two before being in the next crew. You too can do what you wish.

SpaceX has two rocket families: Manned qualified, Falcon 9 and Dragon spacecraft. One booster recently collapsed after landing and a second stage failed to de-orbit as planned. An oxygen leak led to a starlink mission failure to reach a high enough orbit. Starship developmental system. That one had two second stage failures in the last two launches. However, this most recent, multiple engine explosion suggests the CEO may be missing from his usual engineering leadership. He is also sending Tesla in directions I can't support. Again, absence of 'hands on' leadership. Bob Wilson
No division ever failed to deploy for lack of a Pentagon 4-star.....or in the case of the US military....a six-pack of four stars. Officers run the military. NCOs make the military run, IN the canoe-club we call it 'deck plate leadership.' Wall Street calls it middle-level management. If SpaceX is experiencing growing pains, it's not with the F9s. Today is might be a 'two for Tuesday' with a science mission out of Vandy and the 22nd re-flight of an F9 out of P-CAN delivering some Starlinks - including some of the newer direct-to-cell variants that will eventually ensure my retirement is not delayed. That's - what? Nearly 500 flights for this rocket with a high percentage of either planned expenditures or successful landings. And remember.....Starlink and Starshield are just a side hustles for SpaceX. A good CEO can keep all of that that on track with about 2 zoom calls a week and an hour (maybe two) a day of banging out emails. I'm old enough to remember when the only way we could send people into LEO was to thumb a ride from the Rooskies. TSLA is a publicly owned company. The BOD can "Jobs" Musk and force him to step down as the CEO - or be nudged into doing so by the shareholders - and perhaps they should. Musk didn't start TSLA, but I think it's pretty safe to say that he was out on the sharp end of the stick when the shorters were the folks wearing red ties and poking fun at EVangelists.
Welp. Yesterday wasn't a toofer, but Launch #455 and Landing #415 happened at Vandy without any major issues. - SpaceX - Launches Not sure why the Starlink rocket didn't clear the pad, but they're going to try again today.....
Another day.....Another Launch. - SpaceX - Launches We still have a couple of beans that have been stranded in space for months and months.....but the rescue mission failed to leave the pad - so there IS SOME good news for Musk Haters. Another opportunity tonight, perhaps!
I still like small, medium, and super-sized rockets. Don't know if you caught it but a few frames from test flight #8 clearly show two engines in the second stage had 'disappeared.' As for Williams and Wilmore, I am amazed they don't burst out laughing every time someone claims they are stranded. I certainly would. They got the extended "E" ticket ride. Reminds me, @asjoseph, of the Lucky Airlines commercial from the movie Putney Swope. Bob Wilson
One of the two 'dissappeared' Raptors re-appeared during the second candle re-light. I'm told that this is not unexpected, but I'm wondering what their Oscar-Sierra plan is for the inner three. My longest sub patrol was 112 days. That's nothing compared with some CVN deployments, but I was also 'detained' in GTMO and the sandbox for 12 months each. I can only imagine what it might be like in space, but I DO know what it's like to be crammed nut-to-butt in a metal tube for 3-1/2 months with a few of my closest friends. One of the sailors that I deployed with did not have a sense of smell. No, the ChiComms were not responsible, it was how he came out of the oven. I envied him often until the cooks somehow made a phenomenal lasagna one day. Those guys REALLY did work miracles with what they had!! We blew sanitaries later that same day, and we were already on 'water hours' so yeah..... I'm thinking that the '2 Dubbayas' will be happy enough to get home to real showers, real food, and the ability to go for a nice long walk. Alone. Still.... I might trade 10 months of my life for an extended "three hour tour" in space but it would be good to know about it in advance. They're close enough to 'stranded' for me, personally but I do not feel sorry for them. We've lost 2 shuttle crews, and as successful as SpaceX is.......they're going to lose some beans too. E-ticket rides ain't cheap! Their ride home will be delayed again - but there is a decent chance that they're in the NoMores..... BTDT....
The Spam is out of the can! Good to see a Rooskie thumbing a ride to LEO from US for a change!!! Splashdown is scheduled for WED in the Gulf of whatever we're calling it these days.
