The Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEEHRA) program is a federal program created under the Inflation-Reduction Act by Biden and being killed by Trunk. It is not a California program.

Gotta love adds with no X that potentially misbehave if you click either button
Wisconsin has had a Republican majority in state and local governments since 1987.

The state governor can only pass and possibly creatively veto bills written by the Republican controlled senate/assembly .

Despite it always being R majority for most people’s voting lifespans they continuously blame all unpopular policies and issues on democrats even though there really aren’t any and never have been to any meaningful extent.

So even though the D side can’t really write law for the governor to sign they still blame democrats with a R 2 house majority combined with local and various offices also being R.

They are just shy of supermajorities that allow our assembly to unilaterally pass legislation without any check or balance.

when all branches were R not that long ago they still blamed D, people just eat up blaming the ghosts of D from 40 years ago.

I am curious to see how will this elected dictatorship in Washington will end.

And we thought it could never happen in the US, but it turns out that the constitution has nothing to prevent it.

The new wave of elected dictatorships around the world

Beneath the roiling surface of explosive news events a far more deeply worrying current has set in across the world: the triumph of elected dictatorships. Until the last decade or so history was familiar with essentially two types of states, democratic and non-democratic. Now we have a third, a hybrid, which we might at a pinch also define as non-democratic democracies. Russia, Iran, Iraq, Venezuela, Egypt, Turkey, the former Ukraine, Georgia, are concrete examples. What do these regimes have in common? They have ‘elected’ leaders. That’s the democratic part. Virtually every other aspect of their governance structure looks a lot like authoritarianism run rampant.

Let’s itemize the list of common attributes: media owned by the leader’s cronies; economy dominated by same; opposition politicians constantly harassed, prosecuted, or in danger of prosecution; state and religion hand in glove; judiciary pressured to comply with government’s diktat; independence of educational institutions relentlessly subverted; corruption ubiquitous in state institutions; free markets victimized by political expediency; foreign NGO’s scapegoated. And oh yes – almost invariably the country’s woes get blamed on sinister outside conspirators, usually the US. You get the picture.

Constitution is really pretty barebones, if you look at the federalist papers which are still assumed to be apart of our law, the founders were terrified of a king or dictator becoming president but had the cock out of saying that the president and all government works to the benefit of the people and that the people we’re required as good citizens to impose their will directly on a misbehaving government, AKA so called civil disobedience.

Thus far direct prejudice to law makers does appear to motivate them but having access is becoming an issue. They are humans and likely don’t want a civil war anymore than anyone else.
Most are being held under the thumb of being more afraid of the top and MAGA heads than the majority of constituents they represent.

not sure how they figure going against the will of the majority can possibly be good for their futures but it’s what they are doing

Everybody’s approval has been in the tank as a meta with both R & D having actual approvals in the 30% area. (Assuming we look at the whole population including those who can’t vote )

The lack of approval for the R party is due to what they do,
The lack of approval of the D party as a meta is also due to what the R party is doing combined with what the D party isn’t doing.

Those that claim that voters aren’t as stupid as they seem, I present exhibit A that democratic voters believe their elected minority officials can do something both meaningful and legal to change the situation.

few democratic officials want to go to jail, so it’s impossible to satisfy what the voters think is possible in a quadruple minority position.

If Dems would have laid down on purpose snd republicans would have been given the win in 2020, it is likely you wouldn’t see R in a majority for decades because the anger was over things outside our control and taken out on whoever was in power, happened worldwide.
Democrats always want to grab the flaming crap sandwich to fix it. Better to lay down sometimes and let the other guy blow himself up.
