negative experience with Toyota continues. I have now been informed that I should obtain a second opinion (not explained what Toyota means) about the problem, as the Toyota Technicians are unable to replace the issue. The Case Worker refused to answer about my question why no videos or photos were attached to the case either. So far, the caseworker has not requested any media files yet, so I am unsure how the caseworker or the technical department would be able to solve, or even investitage this.

What I noticed in the meantime, that there is generally always water in the trunk and it`s coming out at this place, not sure if this should be like that? The water comes from within the trunk and not from the Outside.

Also, there is a very rusty part in the trunk.

if anyone else with a Mk4 has or had the same issue? Please get in touch with me !

    still chasing toyota,
they took reading of the paint thickness - came back to normal this was referred to the bodyshop - no response for weeks/month. Turned out the bodyshop went out of service?
now they are requesting pictures of the overall condition of the vehicle...
still, customer experience not really that great at all

Someone was supposed to come and take pictures, nobody visited or called me
The service manager is not in today... the person dealing and trying to help, could not say much and was not allowed to provide any information

Just 1 thing slipped off his lips, that there is a service bulletin out for years to check a specific part checked and replaced on the trunk....

He was not allowed to share the number or reference of this bulletin

Customer experience - another negative point

Waiting/ expecting call from the service manager tomorrow morning

so - after Toyota Northampton (UK) hasn`t responded to my email or Phone calls for over 2 weeks (although agreed) I finally got them on the phone...
    Summary:
    - they submitted a warranty case - got declided
    - quoted me for repair work for a corroded part (as corrosion warranty is apparently only 3 years in uk) for over 1411£ - for replacing I am actually not sure?
    - they are they it`s surface corrosion - but they assume the water ingress is caused by it (yes surface corrision let`s water through?)
    - they are still unable to replicate the fault of water ingress
    - if the repair would not solve the water ingress, they are unwilling to refund me any money for the repair

(I've had absolutely abysmal interactions with Toyota so going to them isn't even something I considered for this.:censored:)

My roommates 2017 has been having severe humidity issues inside the car too, and it seems to be centralized around the trunk as well.

He put one of those satchels that absorbs moisture into it and out of curiosity I put one in my car as well. His is definitely picking up a lot of moisture and mine hasn't even begun to show use.

I was curious if you ever found a solution to your problem?

    thanks for your Post.
Did I ever found the point of Ingress? No
did we ever came to a solution fixing the problem? No ! (toyota claimed that repairing the rusty part would fix it, but I would have to pay for it AND they would not guarantee that this would resolve the problem, but a lot of nice words of "it would, the master techs know what they would do etc)
the bags for absorb humidity would not solve my problem, as the water in the trunk is excessive and not down from humidity
