I did not find this in the article. Source?

I saw Chinese test cycles but the EPA testing usually reduces the claimed performance to values I can replicate.

The published figures are for CLTC, not WLTC. China's results are more generous; possibly better than NEDC.

It will get about 140 mpge on EPA, with 240 miles of range. Still better than the Model Y, but the Tesla also has a hundred miles more range.
Got to calculate mpge from posted range and battery capacity, and then convert between the test cycles.

China is getting the revamped Model Y now. Not enough info out on it for comparison though.

I suspected as much. I’ll wait for EPA metrics . . . while the EPA exists.

Sadly, because you're from a certain famous east coast sea port you're considered a national security threat by the CCP. China ain't gonna have all you crazy Bostonians ruining their tea supply. :)

It's the best we'll get. The sedan version has been out for two years and still China only.

Toyota also withheld the Estima hybrid minivan from the USA market yet sold them in Canada.

Having been there recently? I have to say...

The USA seems to be becoming more like them faster than they're becoming more like us.

a bit of misnomer in that there may be 5% loss converting 240v into DC pack usage (& that's not even discounting for parasitic loss - with so many devices background running nowadays), then reconverting DC voltage into high voltage 3 phase on the way out.

I did try to include those effects, as well as the unusable buffer on the battery, which is even harder to guess. It is hard to make a conversion. 160 mpge sounds a little high, but perhaps we could still see over 150 mpge. Currently, the highest mpge is Lucid Air Pure RWD with 19-inch wheels Automatic (A1) ACPM with 146 mpge. So, 160 mpge is not that far off.

What would the BZ3X cost if it made it here? I'll have to read the articles better. This would be kind of a dream come true car if it came to the USA. I want one, simple because of the apparent price and range and brand. It's a little ugly in my opinion, but looks practical.

Ouch! No thank you. I think I'll buy a Honda Grom as my daily commuter.
