Greetings, prius drives but the electric motor will shut down while driving and the gas engine rev high. pull over turn it off and wait a minute or more, will start back up and drive fine for a while and the electric motor will shut off again. The fan is always running till i turn off the car. from dr prius code reader codes P0A78, P0A08, P3000P0A80, P3014 please share you insight and support.
Googling all those codes will give you lots of insight I hope or I don't know if you work on your car or not but you've got some issues there sure enough You need to read the codes over and then anything you don't understand I guess and pretty much be explained but for every code there's quite a few YouTube videos scan results and the end-all be all of what they did many of those videos are from here and people from here or you can sit here on the chat and They'll be about a thousand responses per code maybe more so that could get tricky If you're using a generally good code scanner usually for each code they'll be a button you hit or a line a text under the code you hitting it'll take you right online to the repair procedure so if your code scanner doesn't do this for you you may want to look into one that might they're not very expensive now be the best $63 you've ever spent.
Well you got to reported problem of transmission pressure and the second code is to do with your DC to DC converter which charges your 12 volt battery when you're 12 volt AGM battery goes below 12.3 or so volts you're starting to become problematic communications problems arise and codes can be set because computers all 21 of them can't communicate with each other across the can bus because your voltage isn't steady and then will work on the other two or three and see what happens so get the 12 volt straight first find out what's going on that's not charging your battery when you're ready you should see 13.5 to 14.5 on your test meter on the battery terminals ready when you're sitting not ready car off everything done 25 minutes after that shut down you should be at 12.3 to 12.7 at rest You need to find out why that's not happening If you don't have the 13.5 to 14.5 ready your DC to DC converter is not charging your 12 volt bad.
Trouble codes P3000, P0A80, and P3014 are related to the hybrid battery. Specifically, there is a problem with block #4 in the hybrid battery. You should be able to see this in the Dr Prius app data. I think the P0A78 and P0A08 codes are not related to the problem with the hybrid battery. These codes could be a problem with the inverter assembly or other problems related to the hybrid drive of the car.
Hi? Yes the app say block #4. It showing 15. Change volt or charging. The bar is very low compared to the rest.
will changing block 4 help fix it. the big question why is the car hybrid motor/transmission shut down while driving and gas engine rev high and no power. i can push the accelerator but no power. turn off the car, and it will start back up and drive just normal. what could be issue or problem
The hybrid battery problem will generally not stall the engine, and if for some reason it stalls, it will not reset on its own. This could be because of the inverter and/ or the electric motor heating up. Did you check the coolant level for the inverter? Changing the low block will fix your hybrid battery temporarily. Because once the car flags one module as bad, it is for the reason that it is really bad, but other modules have deteriorated as well. But I have seen that replacing the bad module has actually fixed the battery for some time, over a year. I doubt if it will fix the stalling problem. The stalling problem is more to do with the inverter side of things. Probably heating up. You have to make sure the coolant pump is working.
They answered your question already. P0A80, P3014 are the first keys to solving your problem. Fix the HV battery.
It depends on with what you replace it. The success of the repair is highly linked to the quality of the repair. Module replacemet is not for the faint of heart, and you will need do a lot of reading and learning.
The Prius transmission requires the high-voltage electrical system online for it to be a transmission at all; with no electrical action, it's just a weird gearbox with permanent Neutral. If the car decides the battery electrical condition is too bad to use, that'll happen.
