2009 Prius hatchback. I bought a kit recommended here somewhere to replace my original catalytic converter. My son was supposed to do the work, but he has not been able to.

Midas first said they woukd do it, then backed out when I tried to schedule. They have no alternative to recommend.

Can anyone here suggest a shop or an individual in Minnesota that would put my own part on the car? Supposedly, it is a bolt on solution no welding needed...

Welcome to the big city. Apparently?
My highly regarded local mechanic (bless his heart!) would do that in a second. Reasonably to boot. Too bad your 3 hrs away!
Actually, shocked you have a functioning 09 in the cities. That place is a real meat grinder for automobiles:eek:

I would think any exhaust shop muffler shop if they still exist we have them here in the south not franchises but just guys that bend up pipe to go on V8 duals and all that stuff. Without the car being up in the air or on a lift there real pain in the nice person to get the springs to compress and the studs the screw in and so on a lot of fun your old gasket will probably be fine

What's the problem with having it? Do you have some kind of a hate-on for cat converters?

Or is this a replacement for a faulty original? If so, my apologies.

Car has 335k mikes. Throwing P0420 for a few years now. Plan to sell car after I cash out the OEM part and get rid of the code for the new owner.

335k and going mostly strong (using some oil). Three hours is nothing for me... when I get ready to give up locally, I might ask you to connect me to your guy. Always up for a road trip!
