Well I did get scolded a couple of days ago. Using "summon" to bring the car to the Costco loading area, the car stopped about about 15 feet away blocking traffic. I tried to have it move forward but hit the backup instead of forward. The car behind gave a toot.

I tried to move it forward but it only goes straight and it needed to turn. So I jumped in and steered it to where we could load the groceries. While we were loading the car, the driver of the following car came over an told me "Teslas shouldn't do that." I nodded my head. A couple of other pedestrians said as much but we were loading the car. But I did notice the performance.

"Summon" remains a work in progress. It doesn't hit anything but it seems to stop short of the operator. It makes sense to move about 10-15 ft beyond where you want the car so the "pause" will put the car where it needs to be.

Good to know if the stock price falls to $15 a share, the company goes kaput and I find myself in possession of a gently used example.....

Is it legal to use summon in a public place?

Costco parking lots are typically private property, unlike the local library .... or maybe even national parks, Banks etc, not that I haven't seen poorly concealed handguns in many fed locations. But the employees don't seem to bat an eye. idk - maybe the moral of the story is if nobody cares - do as they do in Rome

Pretty sure the reactions to the use of summon reported in post #61 count for "somebody cared."

oh - THOSE people ... i forgot ... the ones that pull along side you next freeway lane over with the look of horror as though your car is on fire ... pointing like a madman but they're only pointing to your gas cap cover door ajar. LOL while on the other end of the spectrum, people get mugged on a New York Subway & many pretend they don't notice. Now that's diversity.

I typically use it to avoid running to the car in the rain. But this day, we had a cart full of groceries and there were more cars and people around.

I had noticed it tends to stop short of where I am standing. So it makes sense to move a little further away, say 3 steps further. Once the car stops, walk over, load, and drive away.

I'm no fan of Musk, but I think it's despicable to burn some soccer mom's car just because it's a Tesla.

Keep things in perspective. IMHO, there are probably 2-5x more road rage and even more useless shootings.

    Sounds like somebody drove I-95.

Try I-81. It's mostly truckers and 98% of them are professionals with good skills. Sometimes the view is boring; you can't see around them... but it's not like the chaos of 95.

Looks like it'll add an hour for my trip. Which could be less by avoiding potential mess around DC and Fredericksburg. Plus, no tolls.

That's hilarious. I liked the one about the super secret text server messages between all of the administration bombing the heck out of everybody. LOL

Yes. we had a lot of that in Colorado. I just started calling 911 and giving a description of the car, its direction and speed. In doing so....Out of 6 or 7 calls. I did watch 1 guy get pulled over. Hopefully he got a ticket and the financial hit caused them to slow down some.
