I think the new cutting-edge silver metallic is a significant improvement over the old classic silver metallic, the latter of which looks whitish. The new color is actually a more classic silver. I did own a classic silver metallic 2020 Prius Prime XLE. The blue magnetism on my 2021 Prius Prime Limited is a far better color. I wonder how it would have looked on Gen 5.

I really like the Gen 5 wheel covers, and they look great on silver, and they look better than the 19" wheels (both the HEV and PHEV) in my opinion.

So, the silver is the best Gen 5 color but only because the other colors are not so nice. LOL

I'm partial to silver, of course, which will surprise no one. I think it shows off the lines best. The car's features are a bit lost in darker colours like black and blue. The white looked good in direct sunlight, all shiny and sparkly, and red might have been my third choice. It looks good in Karachi/mustard yellow, but yes, it's too close to looking like a taxi.

So, what colours do we think would look better? Maybe a lighter and brighter blue? British racing green? Burgundy with metal flake?

British racing green always has a "take charge" look. (y)

I'm shocked to get any color beyond the greys, a red, and a blue from Toyota. And their reds and blues tend to be on the less flashy side.

I appreciate a rich brown. Chevy had striking brown they called pepperdust. It was a lighter shade of brown with green and golden flakes. That brand also wasn't daunted by using purple at times. The dragon green that was on the Sonic one year was brighter/shinier than the British green. Could work with the gen5's sportier styling, which can support an orange or gold too.

That goldy brown is kinda nice..and so are many of the other fantasy colours on that site. Good find, Gokhan.

That looks like the Toasted Walnut Metallic from the Prius v. Looks good.

And Tangerine Splash on the Gen 5 also looks good.

I'm not a fan of the colour but Silver Pine could also work. Or..... Tideland Pearl :D

I thought Toyota was bad. The BMW X5 has a choice of 2 blacks, 2 whites, and 4 greys. Then 2 blues and a green.

I'm looking at a red one. It doesn't strike me as a color that deserves the special color up sell. Its just...red. But it's something other than one of the 50 shades of grays that are on the road today.

Some red paints do use gold for the dye.
Though the cost here is likely in the color requiring more steps to apply.

It's a tri-coat*. It takes more time to apply and it's more finicky to defects that need to be touched up during the paint process. Same thing as the white.

*Most colors: Primer -> Base -> Clear
    Tri-coat: Primer -> Base -> Mid-coat -> Clear

The Dodge Viper had a red that took a week to apply with all the steps. Was something like $15k. Guess it also had gold in it.

    We love white cars!

We bought two new cars this year. It was an anomaly because we moved and downsized… our existing cars were too large for the new garage.

We chose Wind Chill for both the 2025 Prius Hybrid and 2025 RAV4 PHEV. Our old cars were also white. 2017 Siena and 2019 Avalon.
