Toyota states that the 12.5" infotainment screen has both wireless Apple carplay and Android Auto. I'm absolutely at my wits end trying to connect my Android Auto from my Pixel 8 Pro to my car. I even gave up and bought an adapter that plugs into the data port (USB C) which after some struggling, did manage to connect. It also sometimes fails to connect and leaves me frustrated with no music but the radio.... Does anyone have similar issues? Maybe someone has an idiots guide to connect Android Auto
I'm not 100% certain, but I don't think the European version has wireless Android Auto, only wireless Apple CarPlay. I'm not seeing anything on the Toyota UK website that says wireless Android Auto.
When you pair your phone to your head unit via Bluetooth, is there an option in device management to connect as AA instead of media/phone? If it's not set to AA in this menu even if it auto connects it'll connect as the wrong device type.
I have a Pixel 8 pro and Pixel 9 both connect wirelessly to a US model 24 prime. It will occasionally disconnect and reconnect, but it works.
Added bluetooth device (had phone find the car), then turned on "use for android auto" opotion next to device in car under bluetooth devices list.
