Hey so new the community, just recently picked up a 4th gen 19’ Prius LE, curious on what coolant you guys put in yours?
The coolant is good for at least 100k miles, are you needing to change it? You can use any of the premixed pink asian fluids. Walmart has it for about $12 a gallon
Have a look in the Owners Manual: it specs the coolant and says alternatives are ok if they meet a LIST of criteria. To be fair I understood some of the words in that list, but a lot were incomprehensible. I got this from Toyota dealership parts department: Toyota Super Long Life Coolant you’ll likely need two gallons. My 3rd gen experience (will verify in a bit) was approx 1.5 gallon (aka 6 qts) for engine coolant, at replacement. For inverter maybe 0.75 gallon (aka 3 qts). If Owners Manual is missing, pdf version can be downloaded from Toyota Tech Info site, in the “manuals” tab.
Instead of paying $30 for a bottle of Toyota coolant to top off, you can get it free when you do you next oil change at the dealership. Just ask them to top off the fluids, it's free
