Changed my auxiliary belt on my gen 2. Old one was very cracked and glossy, hence it was slipping too. I wasn’t experiencing any other belt-related issues, but thought I’d replace it before issues arise. And old one was a non OEM belt. Pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to replace.
I think the translation of the "Tomangish" is: Yes, it is very quickly changed. However, I don't think you need[ed] to change it, as I see nothing noteworthy.
Definitely time to replace. Did you check if the water pump and the adjusting pulley spun smoothly and quietly? If the bearings sound "dry" (like old school roller skates) then I replace the pulley (or pump). Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
