Stereo stays on sat only?

    2004:

    Nav works, sound balance adjustment works but the stereo won't switch from sat to fm, am, aux, etc.

    I checked the fuses under the dash, and they all looked good. Nav works so I assume it's not the part under the passenger seat.

    It's my daughter's car. She used to play her phone off the RCA input on the right side of the radio, behind the vent, big deal for her having no music off her phone!

    Any ideas?

    Is this only on the steering wheel or are you pushing the buttons on the unit when you push the buttons on the unit to go from AM/FM to auxiliary or CD on the unit do the buttons feel like they're making the push they make a detent so a.m. clicks FM clicks the track up and down buttons work? Sounds like the head unit

    Sounds like this is an aftermarket stereo JVC Clarion etc? Sounds like a head unit problem

    Yeah doesn't work from the stereo itself or the wheel.

    Yes the buttons have a depress functionality that works.


    It also has the dash lights that don't work sometimes. I understand that is also the head unit?

    I'm sure there are threads on replacing it. I'll go take a look.

    So then this is a factory stereo and a factory car with nav and everything a loaded generation 2 in my loaded generation 2 when the CM monitor display was not working It did not affect my six disc factory changer at all that I remember It might have had my navigation system acting up which I never use but that's on the MFD. But I do believe my stereo was okay with the display not working but I can't remember now now with the display working the six disc changer and everything works in the car including I don't know what SAT is satellite radio I don't think I have that but I have the others and they all work.
