Only you can be the decider of that! The engine gave you a really good run, and in theory the next engine could as well. Others will chime in and say that the battery and brake booster are big expenses that are probably waiting right around the corner. In general (and hybrids specifically) cars can be expensive to own if you pay someone else to maintain an older one. How are your wrench skills?

I've got 200k on our 2015 now, took over as the main driver @ 173k when we bought my wife a new Rav4. At that point I did the EGR cleaning and replaced the water pump preemptively (original one still looked brand new so definitely wasn't necessary yet). I did coolant flushes and trans fluid change at this time as well. I also pressure tested the head gasket and it is still good, the intake side of the engine was extremely clean with no build up. Oil changes were at the dealer every 10k when my wife was driving it, now I do every 5k miles. I put about 20k miles on per year. Only parts (besides brake pads and tires) that we have needed to replace were the hatch struts just a couple months ago and the hatch latch last week.
