    Dash monitor?

At a minimum I want to have a monitor for engine temp, but what else should I be monitoring, and

what monitor do you all recommend?

I'd recommend none. Had a scangauge connected for a few years, then it started giving the car fits: work-to-rule brakes, brake/traction warning lights, Check Hybrid System. Stopped using the SG, issues ceased.

Personally purchased the hardwired OBD2 P10 as pictured (own dedicated monitor/screen). Got it from AliExpress rather than Amazon as they are both the same without the inflated x2 price/potentially wait a few days longer. Wanted something with its own dedicated display and no need to worry about turning it on/off or connecting, turns on with ignition.

Nice and small can have it on the dash or slightly out of direct view in corner areas. Can set alerts for engine coolant temperature which I was mainly interested in.

Have only had it and used it for a few days so can't comment on how long/well it'll last.

This is the AliExpress link that I got it from:

The P12 has a more interesting design.

I didn't come across the p12 assuming it's an upgraded version. Well I guess if the p10 ever stops working or whatnot may upgrade it!

Either way they're both cheap and cheerful for their intended purpose if you're basically just after engine coolant temperature etc.

Also like the RPM gauge even though the Prius dash already covers when using engine/battery. When it's on 0 RPM easier to tell (for me anyway) that electric motor is on.
