I just rebuilt my Gen 2 hybrid battery and I crushed the temp sensor.

Ok, so if the sensor was actually up between the modules, someone put it there on purpose. The sensor should have clip wings on it for mounting it under the module. I would guess someone accidently broke them off while disassembling and figured they'd just wedge the sensor between the modules while assembling it. Very Nice...

There are probably plenty on ebay.

did I miss it or... do we use the resistor or not? if we do.. where does it go? I see the same question written different ways yet, no answer or confirmation of how to... anyone? Bueller?

Thermistors in the high-voltage battery are used to monitor the temperature of the modules, their output wires are connected to the battery electronic control unit.

I think jmyntrn was referring to the ordinary resistor shown in the photo in post #12 from Bob k.

Bob k wasn't the OP in this thread and didn't come back and post anything else, and nobody knows what he was doing with that resistor or where it came from or why he was asking about it.

Ok. Bob disappeared along with the resistor.

this and most if not all come with the resistor. for now I soldered the broken wire then a little marine grade heat shrink tube with the inner glue wall to keep it all in place. so far so good.

The thermistor kit comes with a normal resistor.
Includes a 1% 10K resistor which you can use as calibration or for a resistor divider.
The resistive divider construction schemes can be different so that when the values of the composite resistances change, the read voltages from the control points change.
Most of the circuits inside the Prius ECU are built on a Voltage divider.

The thermistor is universal and comes complete with a regular resistor.
