I have a code reader! Where is the wheel speed sensor located? How much is a master cylinder repair plus parts?
The wheel speed sensors are in the hubs. Most code readers would point to the correct wheel. The brake booster assembly is around $2500 installed with no aftermarket options. It is more common than wheel speed sensors and requires the good scanner to read codes. Normal scanners may report no codes.
I must be the 'some'. I do suggest the blink code method sometimes, but mostly when somebody can't do it the easy way with their scan tool (which can be because they don't have a scan tool, or they have one but it doesn't show them their Prius codes, or they've ordered a scan tool and they're putting off finding out what their codes are until it's delivered).
