For reasons not relevant to this question, I have to my power driver's seat all the way forward and all the way back several times per day. Every day. I'm thinking that the power seat was not designed for this duty cycle. Is there anything I should do as maintenance and to prevent failure? Lube? Grease? My fear is that the seat moving breaks in the fully forward position, making it impossible to drive.
IMHO; you should probably rip it out for inspection, cleaning and relube, when you have time. Lots of things get kicked under the seats over the years. Hair balls, dust, and dirt would probably accumulate on any exposed lubed surfaces, so it'll need to be cleaned and relubed to prevent failure. Good Luck......
Maybe you should think about getting a manual operated seat? as a spare, in case your power seat motor breaks from overuse
