Bought the car because I had to, not because I wanted to.

I have to admit that many people who say that they "have to buy a new car" really don't, but getting a car totaled is a pretty good reason!
THE most important thing is that you did not appear to have been injured.

I won't comment on which car you bought because that struggle bus is already loaded to capacity.
Besides....the G5 is a solid, if somewhat over-priced eco-hatch and if your zip code starts out with something like 91, 92, 93 you might be able to almost cost justify the additional expense.

Best of luck with the G5!

I drive my EV for < 1 cent per mile, thanks to the electric rate plan I selected with my power company.
    The more miles the better!
~230 miles per charge, depending on how fast I drive.
But if using DCFC for more miles per day, that quickly adds up $/mi.

Without an L2 at home, none of the environmental and cost advantages of an EV would work for you.

Why can't you get an L2 installed where you slumber? Apartment dweller?

Level 1 can work if daily miles doesn't exceed what can be charged at night. It might also work when daily trips exceed that. If the EV has enough range to go, say a week with daily Level 1 charging, and then has a period like the weekend to fully charge. That is my plan for a future EV, but I will also have a gasser for weekends and trips.

i have level 2, but the hycam is actually more cost efficient than the bolt. everyone has different fuel pricing
