Confused: what could cause new front lower shield to pull off?

    Thanks for the reminder, Mendel! I forgot how awesome the Amaya site is
    I was actually asking about the big undercover, 51441 in this diagram:

    It looks like it is mostlybheld up by a bunch of fender clips. Seems quite inadequate
    I may have to get this jacked way up to really see what's going on.

    See the “oil change” link in my signature. It has an attached TSB that shows the engine bay under panel and its fasteners. (On a phone turn it landscape to see signatures)

    I’ve had no problems with that panel, had ours off and back at least 30 times I think. You’ve got to maintain the fasteners for sure, some tips on that there too.

    I ordered/received a complete set of the fasteners through Amayama, maybe 5 years back. It had a few fasteners with a jaw fail, so just figured to get enough for complete replacement.

    My onluly remaining issue with it is sagging plastic in front of the old change hole, and no mount points on that entire edge. Maybe I need to add a stiff plastic bar, zip-tied in place.

    There's that other piece that goes over the front of the shield you replaced (PNC 52618 in your diagram). It's stiffer and mainly held onto the bumper cover by what looks more like lag screws (1 in the triangles, that screw into white plastic clips, 2 in the triangles, that press into square holes in the front bumper cover.

    What's the condition of that piece?
