Creative solution for drooping underbody shield?

You seriously should win a prize for most amount of new posts for the same problem.... You know if you do a google search and type in "PriusChat underbody shield alternatives" you could read 20 years worth of people discussing the subject. It would be way more efficient. And then if you still needed to make a new post because you couldn't find an answer you could share links to all the posts you already read, which would make your post way more valuable for people who have this question in the future.

 

You have my 20-year-old brass automatic flippable oil change valve I've had three of those things for like 30 years now since about 84 for the sloppy piece of plastic just take a what is that a quarter inch piece of metal you channel and shoot two or three small sheet metal Phillips screws in it hold it right up won't even know it's there probably stay there for a good long time just a small imagine it's like quarter inch you channel right in the home Depot metal section just a little piece what four six eight inches long put it on the engine side with the you faced up. And then shoot the screws from the ground side.

 

There are numerous aftermarket underbody panels, yes, the whole cover, oil change door and all, for sale on Amazon for less than $100.

Sure, the plastic is probably not as thick and sturdy as the oem part. Also, you will have to remove the absorbent mat material from the oem cover and transfer it to the new one. You should probably also reinforce or replace the oil change door hinge while it is clean and not yet torn and beat up.

If it was my car, I'd also try to reinforce the cover with some thin aluminum strips or other material to make it more sturdy and less vibration prone.
