2012, Prius III and still on the original 12V battery. 125K mi. No major issues over the entire life of vehicle.

Am I an outlier with this kind of 12V battery life? I am thinking about proactively replacing it but maybe not if the life is typical.

Over the year I had 4 different Prius models (2000, 2003, 2009 and 2012 pip). I kept each for about 8-11 years and only had to get a new 12v battery once ever, It was for the 2003 when a door was left open when it was ~10 years old.
I used to joke about needing to replace my Prius battery every 5 years or so -- the battery in the FOB.

Some people used to think the solar panel trims charged the 12v batt and HV battery. Nah, that doesn’t apply to your Prius haha

Ours is coming up on 10 years (installed an Optima Yellow Top in September of 2015); I might replace it the Fall coming up. Tested with a Solar BA5 it's CCA is getting closer to spec, albeit still on the higher side. We're very low use, coupled with very regular hook up to a smart charger.
