Car went in for body work, they swapped 2 passenger doors, I think in the process they had to remove the dash because a small section is popping up, guess they broke the clip(s) holding it down.

I guess they also had to disconnect and reconnect a bunch of wire looms. I noticed something odd when I picked up the car but didn't think much of it as the car drives normally, and thought may be due to low battery from sitting there for weeks.

Noticed a pattern when I got home. It doesn't happen when unlock using the remote. But when touching the door handle to unlock keylessly (either passenger or driver door), the actuators activate 5 times and blinkers flash 7 times simultaneously, car starts and drives normally.

The actuators and blinkers can be interrupted by pressing unlock on the remote.

Any idea what is causing this? So I can explain to the body shop and see if they can fix it. On a minor note, would you insist to get them to fix the dash while they look into the unlock issue?

The body shop messed up; possibly bad door handle sensor parts. They need to replace or recalibrate it. The logic circuit seems to be working fine, since it acts fine with the FOB remote. If this problem is readily repeatable, show the body shop manager. If they refuse to fix it; tell them your calling your insurance company to "black-ball" them.

    Hope this helps....

Yeah, will call them tomorrow, in case it develops other problem.

I don't remember if the blinker flashed when door was unlocked keylessly.

Thinking about it, maybe there's a problem with the unlock sensor as you said, it doesn't know when doors are unlocked and continues trying for 4 more times then gives up. Blinkers just go with the actuators.

Perhaps remote unlock doesn't have that re-try logic.

The blinker flashing is programmable. One for lock, two flashes for unlock; three flashes for unlock all. That's how mine is programmed, but you can turn them OFF. I prefer them on, visual indication that it locks or unlocks in the dark. The same options applies to the horn signals.
I used to work night shifts and turned OFF the horn signal, so I wouldn't disturb my neighbors late at night while locking my car.

    Hope this helps....
