Bottom of Prius/Undercarriage/Something else?

Hey all,

New here and I have a 2012 Prius and this morning I noticed something sticking out of the bottom side of the car. I’m posting two photos, a photo from far away and one up close to show you what I mean. Is this the undercarriage or something else? Apologies for my limited knowledge but thought I’d get some advice before take it anywhere for repairs.

When I turn on the car internally everything seems fine and I drove it once around the block and it felt as smooth as ever. Any insight would be helpful as to what to do next to fix. Thanks!
