New to the Toyota Motor Corporation is the first BEV based sedan from Lexus, the Lexus ES 350e and ES 500e.

European version of the 2026 ES announcement spills the beans on some estimated stats.
ALL-NEW LEXUS ES TAKES SEDAN STYLING, LUXURY AND REFINEMENT TO A HIGHER LEVEL

    Powertrain specs:
    • ES 350h: 182 kW (244 hp)
    • ES 350e: 165 kW (221 hp)
    • ES 500e: 252 kW (338 hp)
Lexus Europe also includes the 300h version (sold in Western European markets) which also was the 2025 hybrid version for the North American market with a little less power than the previous generation ES 300h (215 hp, 160 kW) at 148 kW (198.5 hp). So where does this stand with the Camry and other sedans in the Toyota lineup? Well the new ES sedan is higher than the lifted Toyota Crown sedan by over 1/2 inch (.6 inches, 15 mm). The new ES is also much longer and wider than either the Toyota Crown or Toyota Camry, so if Lexus wanted any differentiation from the Toyota sedans they got it IMHO. Below are comparison pictures for the Toyota Crown and Camry with the new ES 350h.

The new ES will start arriving sometime around spring of 2026.

More information on the 2026 Lexus ES:
REIMAGINING THE LUXURY SEDAN: THE ALL-NEW 2026 LEXUS ES - Lexus USA Newsroom

The 2026 Lexus ES 350h will come in FWD and AWD configurations with the AWD being .2 seconds faster, 7.2 seconds versus 7.4 seconds, than the FWD version for 0 - 60 mph. The 2026 Lexus ES 350e (FWD only) is a tad slower than the FWD ES 350h at 7.7 seconds but able to get 300 miles range. The 2026 ES 500e (AWD) will get about 250 miles and be able to hit 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. All range mileage are on 235/55R19 tires as standard. The 2026 ES 350e and 500e have available 235/45R21 tires as optional, but no range estimates for those tires. Both the 2026 ES 350e and ES 500e will be using the North American Charging System (NACS), SAE J3400 with 11 kW level 2 charging. They don't specifically state the DC fast charging speeds or battery size, but based on other just announced BEVs, I'd hazard to guess the battery is 74.7 kWh and charging is probably 150 kW.

ALL-NEW LEXUS ES TAKES SEDAN STYLING, LUXURY AND REFINEMENT TO A HIGHER LEVEL

The EU website has additional information on the 2026 ES 350e and 2026 ES 500e. As has been suspected they did use the 74.7 kWh (75 kWh rounded off) battery, but only on the ES 500e, the AWD power EV sedan. The ES 350e, which is FWD only, gets the 77 kWh battery found in the 2026 RZ 550e. So that begs the question as to whether the 77 kWh battery was too big for the AWD ES 500e because of it's rear eAxle? IMHO probably, because the AWD ES 500e takes a 50 mile (80.5 km) AER range hit whereas the range hit between the AWD bZ4X and FWD is about 24 miles (40.2 km). The bZ4X is an SUV and not a sedan like the ES. Also another reason is, for the ES 350e they offer an Executive package which "includes reclining rear seats with a passenger side ottoman, rear outboard massaging seats and rear seat heating and ventilation".

There is additional information on charging speeds that'll probably be reflective for the 2026 Toyota C-HR, 2026 Toyota bZ and the 2026 Lexus RZ. Lexus Europe lists 150 kW as the charging speed and notes that at 25ºC (77ºF), charging from 10% to 80% will take approximately 30 minutes. At 0ºC (32ºF), charging time increases to approximately 40 minutes. At -10ºC (14ºF), charging time increases to about an hour. No they don't state whether this testing was done with pre-conditioning or not.
