Hope someone can help me with this issue. My HV battery gave me problems after 190k. Replaced 3 bad modules and make sure the rest were ok within specs. Double checked internal resistance and volts. All modules were balanced to the best of my knowledge. Drove my Prius for over a week and monitored HV battery with Dr. Prius app. All of a sudden, I couldn’t bring it to Ready and got a blinking shift and blinking fuel gauge bars on dashboard. Scanner read a code related to transmission (can’t remember the exact code) Erased the code and got the same code on scanner. Disconnected 12V battery for a couple of days, reconnected back and tried to start it again. Same happened, blinking shift and blinking fuel gauge bars. Turn it off and try to turn it on back, but nothing happened. This second attempt, there were no lights, except for the ‘door open’ light. Brake lights works, head lights works, all fuses are Ok under dashboard and engine bay. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Austre
What scanner are you using. The manufacturer's name and model number. Use a meter and measure the voltage of the 12v battery. You need to post the exact trouble code that your scanner found. Example: Pxxxx, Cxxxx, Bxxxx, Uxxxx, etc.
First of all, thank you so much for your help. Scanner LAUNCH Cread@r Professional 919E. VERSION: YQ_V102_014 Battery : 12.50 volts Unfortunately I don’t have the code shown before when all blinking started. Tried to pull codes again but scanner can’t read serial number nor connect with ECU. So far, I can hear ABS system whenever I open the door and when I press the brake pedal.
Scanner is not communicating with ECU. The push start button has no LED on even with FOB key inserted into slot.
Double check the AM2 fuse, which is located in the fuse box in the engine bay. Pull the fuse out and check it with a meter.
Where did you measure the voltage? On the battery? On the clamp under the red cap in the fuse box in the engine compartment? On other fuses? A bad habit of resetting error codes without paying attention to it and without writing down at least their alphanumeric codes to be able to identify the problem area.
Dear MAX2, Thank you much for replying to my post. Finally I found the blown fuse that kept my car in the darkness. Now, I’m back to step one. “Blinking shift and fuel gauge bars". The good thing is that I have DTC and video showing the problem. BTW blown fuse was 7.5 Amp in engine bay named P CON MAIN. BATTERY VOLTAGE = 12.4 V Measured at battery, engine compartment and under red cap (fuse box) DTC= B1260 TRANSMISSION CONTROL ECU COMMUNICATION STOP Don’t know how to upload a video. Sorry
That Pcon fuse is you're parking pawl which is electric.. that circuit gets funky . They're a jumper wire trick for bypass Google P.conn bypass o8 Prius . It's in under hood fuse box upp right corner plastic cover off blue /white wire
Hi Tumbukt2, I'm still trying to figure out how to fix my prius. Double check voltage at Transmission Control ECU connector and noticed that there are 10.4 loopvolts only. Voltage verified at IGCT relay = 12.3 volts. Based on wiring diagram there is a Junction connector J3. Do you know if this junction is located inside the car behind instrument panel?? See attached picture.
That's actually pretty interesting question to me in the diagram in the manual for the 2009 model publication em10qou green cover with chips on the front of it it looks like j3 is in or under the fuse box j3 looks like a 12 pin connector and if that's the case it looks like where the fuse box tapers down to the skinny right at the very top of that it looks like it's plugged it's a plug that goes right into the bottom of the fuse box so it must light up The pecan fuse which by the manual lights up two circuits I do believe I have to go back and look
Blow up that picture real good on your phone you see what I'm talking about see where the fuse box curves right there starts to get skinny or the lid does or the whole box but you know what I mean that's where j3 is pointing to now I have a fuse box it's cut out of a car I'm going out to look at it now to see if j3 is marked on the bottom of the fuse box or something or that connectors there the car is sitting 200 ft away
What did you find out nothing I guess have you checked under the fuse box cover under the hood in the top left corner under the black plastic cap what is it the blue and white wire that's supposed to have battery voltage or something that's running your parking control lot of times that has to be jumpered to the p lock fuse to create the circuit or something there's tons of information about it right here and all over the net I guess it would be the Pcon jumper . That actually may be your problem
