For the first few weeks I had the car, a dead 12V battery was almost a daily occurrence. I went through all the normal courses of action, and reached the conclusion that parasitic draw was highly variable and unpredictable. The best solution I found was a battery maintainer, plugged in every time I was parked near an outlet.
The absurdity of this problem, which should escape no one, is that when the 12 V battery falls to about 11.5 volts, the car is disabled with a message, "battery too low" and your only recourse is a boost or a service call. This is absurd, considering the large amount of reserve power in the hybrid battery. Most people would not expect this.

There is something wrong with your car or the 12VDC battery. You need to fix this.

I had a 2006 car that I passed down to my Son as his first and started having battery problems with it. I took a good electrician at the dealership to find out it was the car's "factory" amp shorting the hot batt buss to ground.

    Mods don't fix broke.

I ruled that out the first week with the dealer, It tested well within factory specifications.
No critical thinking skills or just poor reading comprehension?

I know two guys at work with GEN 5s and they have no problem with theirs...and we are Mechanics that work on $50 million dollar aircraft for a living.

Toyota will not be offering a retrofit like this for your 2024 car. It will not happen.

If you want this incorporated in new Toyota models, you would be better off contacting Toyota directly with your idea. I do not think that anyone at Toyota Corporation is reading PriusChat looking for ideas for future models. Posting this idea in the forum is not very productive.

This is another one of your many threads and posts that you create because you seem to enjoy arguing with people and wasting people's time.

I knew I should not have been suckered into posting in this thread. Shame on me. It will not happen again.

Fred's House of Politics is where he wants to "play". This kind of behavior is encouraged there.

    LoL. “Getting attacked”
This is one of the most polite car forums.

On most other car forums you would be left whimpering in a corner.

We have an 'ignore user' feature in this forum that works quite effectively.....
I only use it against one person and only because this person is excessively profane and does not know how to use a computer very effectively.

    Concur.

You have to ask permission to get into FHOP_P which risks not only a rejection of your request but also ACTUAL rebuttal of one's opinion which some feel is......an 'attack.'

I've seen it sometimes cause as many problems as it solves, because it works so effectively you don't see anything ever written by the member you've ignored ... including in other posts where people are replying to what that member wrote, and nothing shows that it's a reply to that person and it's easy for someone else to mistake for a reply to them.

I rely more heavily on the 'ignore' feature provided in my brain.

On one of your many threads where you asked for a solution, I gave you one. It was not a jump starter. You dismissed it and attacked.
