2016 prius c, due to car rattling or vibration when it starts, i removed and cleaning out the egr. there a hose, when i remove coolant came out. after cleaning and installed, started car, check reservoir and top off, while driving on the freeway, the over heat icon comes on for some seconds and will go off and then come back on.

there is no milky look on dip stick

    what could have gone wrong?
how to burp or bleed the system?
what should i be concern about.
how to check water pump? i have already replaced the inverter pump.

    thank you

It is possible that an airlock has formed and adding fluid could not fix it.
When the engine has cooled down, the fluid level and circulation in the system should be checked.
The operation of the cooling pump should also be checked.

Thank you. i fixed. added more coolant, open the car, let it run till it got hot. i see air bubble . no more over heat light but the rattle or vibration noise that happen once in a while when the electric motor starts the gas motor is still happening . i will work on changing spark plugs.

The rattle is from condensation formed inside the intake manifold has nothing to do with spark plugs.
Try this for start...when you park the car let the engine stop by itself and then shut the car off.
You should not have any rattles and shakes in the morning if you do that.
