So my 2017 Prius Prime is 200 km short of 160K km. Any specifics I should have my dealer or mechanic check before I'm full out of warranty?

Here's a spreadsheet summary of the Toyota Canada 4th gen maintenance schedule. IIRC, there was NO paper publication, I had to go through their website to cobble this one. Both engine and inverter coolant is to be changed.

Thanks, these are the maintenance that should be done but what about the inspection of parts that should be done before my warranty ends?

They're supposed to be inspecting everything at every dealer service; there's a check list. If they are actually doing it or doing it properly is anyone's guess - or are they just checking the boxes?????

2017 might have the exhaust recovery system coolant leakage. Is coolant level in the engine coolant reservoir stable?

Unfortunately; he won't know that; if the dealership is topping up fluids. That's one of the boxes they have to check.:cry:o_O:(

I haven't gone to the dealer for maintenance. I changed the sparkplugs myself last year and have the oil change at my mechanic. I do check the engine coolant reservoir at every car wash (I wipe the edges of the openned hood) and so far, there has been no leak. I plan on doing the coolant this summer.

Story time! A few weeks ago, I was following a Gen4 Prius that was letting out lots of white smoke. Since I was close to home, I followed her and mentioned to her that she might have the infamous exhaust heat exchanger issue. She knew about it and luckily for her, she took the extended warranty for her 2019 Prius. Unlucky though is it's in back order and they filled up the coolant reservoir the week before. Looking under the hood, it was already almost empty (just a bit at the bottom)! I told her to use another car and ask the dealer for free coolant until they have a replacement. It's not her problem if the dealer can't get the part.
