Hello guys! I am running into an issue with my 2007 Prius in which the A/C seems to be only blowing warm air. This is odd because I just got it professionally recharged and it worked fine enough up until today. When they recharged the AC, they had mentioned that the refrigerant was certainly low but that they had not noticed any leaks. When I looked for the A/C fault codes, my car came back with b1433 and b1476, not sure what the combination of the two means. Does anyone know what this might potentially be? I am guessing that it might have something to do with the condenser but that's certainly just a guess. I am not looking forward to the idea of taking my car in to get diagnosed. Also if anyone has any further questions please let me know! EDIT: I also forgot to mention, my Prius most likely needs a new Coolant Control Valve and as had a check engine light on because of that (presumably) for a while. I am guessing that it has nothing to do with the A/C system but I figured I would note it just incase.
The AC coil in front of the Prius radiator is vulnerable to damage from stones. I had a slow leak there in my 2004 Prius that was not covered by my waranty when the car was a few months old. JeffD
Yeah you might want to get back over there to those folks you've got some problems the damper door that Bob's up and down to give you your cold air the servo motor is not working properly and that is a mofo to change. And the other I believe is a compressor code for a metering issue or something like that tricky stuff.
The evaporators are also prone to rotting out. When it does a recharge will work for a day or two and then no cooling again. By "not noticed any leaks" do they mean that they pressure tested it for an extended period, or that they just didn't see any stains consistent with a leak? The former is a much better test than the latter.
If I had to guess, they probably just did a quick visual inspection but I am not sure because they didn't tell me.
So now what you want to do is put the air conditioning on in the car when you do that do you hear the compressor come on in the front of the car if so leave it on I'm talking we're putting the system on low medium fan no temperature set AC has a yellow line over it now get out of the car lift the hood and you want to touch the fat hoes coming out of the compressor which goes in between the engine and the transmission and has a gray cap on it that says l indicating that's the low pressure hose that's the one that gets cold if there's gas in the system that hose should be cold by the time you get outside of the car lift the hood put the prop up find the hose and start to touch it it should be noticeably cold? If it's not the gas is leaked out and you're back to where you were and it's probably where you want to stay this will get very costly very quickly like $3,000 Plus
if thats so then ill probably just leave it as is lmao as I bought the car for basically that amount haha
