With my 2024 SE Prime, whenever I plug in the charge cord, it's necessary to open the driver's door and push the button on the left side of the steering wheel to initiate charge "Now" in order to get it charging. I can set "Now" in advance, but it only works one time and then reverts. Is there a setting somewhere that will allow me to plug in and have it start charging without doing anything else? -- that is, a setting that will stay set. Thanks!
Yes, plug it in and then immediately unplug it. Then plug it in again. Charging starts immediately if you do that.
Clear the charging schedule. It's only not charging immediately because you told it to charge at a particular time - and that's a setting that stays set. I believe turning off all the entries should be sufficient, rather than deleting them - if no charging times are active, it should see it has no scheduled times and charge immediately. Another option that avoids disabling the charging schedule - assuming you do want to use it otherwise - is to turn off "ACC customize". This will make the multimedia display stay on when you shut down the car and show a charging schedule display with a handier "Charge Now" button.
More than 48 hours, and OP hasn't been back to check for any responses. Maybe he figured it out on his own?
No, I haven't figured it out, I've just been extremely busy with other stuff. Still have the problem and will try the solutions that have been suggested. I suspect the charging schedule I input when I got the car in August will have to go. I'm not using it anyway. Thanks -
Everything good now. I just have to turn off each day of the week as it comes up. Thanks for the help.
I can't get the "double pump" method to start manual charging. The car (2024 PP) immediately locks the charger handle in the car so I have to unlock via the passenger door, but then the second insertion does not seem to count as a double pump! This always worked on my 2019 PP. Is there a workaround, or even better, is there a setting to Disable the lock-the-charger-handle feature. Nasty where you are at public charger and willingly share to the next in line when you are not physically there...
To make the 'double pump' charge now method work on my '24 PP, I have to be really fast with the double pump. I plug in at the car end, with the power end of the cable assembly already plugged in to the power supply, and watch carefully for the green charging light in the car adjacent to the plug in port illuminate, quickly pushing the release lever on the power plug assembly and unplug the cable. Then I reinsert in the vehicle charge connector point, wait a few seconds, and the green charge light comes on continuous for the charge. Has to be really quick synchronized action to work.
Europe charging connector is different, so could be different here, but doesn't seem particularly touchy for me. Unlocking with the fob within 5 seconds of it starting blinking, then removing within another 5 seconds and replacing in a couple of seconds seems to do it without stress. Still easier to just hit the touchscreen prompt when I turn off, so only need to do the double-connect when I forget to do that. (I mentioned above how to get that).
