I have an '07 Prius without a smart key fob. I understand that is fairly rare.
Yesterday I inadvertently put the smart fob from my '04 into the '07. I immediately
realized my error and changed fobs. Now the '07 fob won't start the car. The door locks and
panic button work fine. The fob has a brand new battery. I tried disconnecting the 12 V and hybrid battery over night, hoping for a re-set. It didn't work. I've tried various tactics after watching videos about the "chicken dance" methods. Nada.
any sure-fire methods? Is it that simple to screw up the immobilizer circuit?

No I wouldn't think so something seems amiss if I put my non SKS remote in my SKS 09 car nada with that remote on seat of same car inserting correct remote in car only not slot car readies imed. ? Slot is amplifier it amplifies the signal from you're remote wether correct remote or not I no think it cares. This should be reflected by red car on dash going out w correct remote?

Car ran fine the night before and now won't respond to the fob except for the door locks...

flashing continues after fob is inserted. Fob locks into slot properly.

I agree with Tom, I have done the same thing and the car READYed immediately after the correct fob was put in the slot.

Are you 100% sure you are using the correct (black logo on the back) fob in the slot of the '07?

Do you have any body ECU codes? They start with Bxxxx?
