I was driving a mechanic (maybe a prius mechanic) home from the bar one night. He is from a group of people in my area that are especially cheap. About two thirds of the way home the car just quit I had to get it towed. I reset it later and that problem has not occured again. Is it possible he had some kind of device that sent out a signal that interfered with the car’s electrical system and shut my car down ?As I said he was of a group of ruthlessly cheap people and I would not be surprised if he did this to get out of paying the fare. (He walked the rest of the way home) I know this seems a little far fetched but I have my suspisions because this problem has not recured in in 1.5 years and these people will do almost anything to pay less
I can believe they're some kinda possibility of sending out signals to jam electronics . You'd have to be reasonably well versed in the cars systems.
It happened a year and a half ago...... If it makes you feel better, blame it on your should-be long-ago forgotten fare and get on with your life. I'm not an automotive mechanic but I've been an electronics tech for 40 years and I'm not aware of any 'Vulcan nerve pinch' that you can perform from the back seat of a G3 Prius that would disable the car long enough for you to have to "reset the car" (whatever that means.) If THAT is your biggest 'Uber Fare' story in the last year and a half???? Count your blessings!!!
