GenII 2007 Prius not playing CDs, stuck on "CD Check"

Hello!

I have a 2007 Prius 95k Miles all OEM. The radio worked great but wouldn't play CDs—regular store-bought compatible compact discs. I tried multiple. So I switched it for another used model that was claimed to be working from ebay. Same model #. This "new" one also doesn't play CDs :/ both say "CD Check" and don't load the music. I looked at the manual, said that either the CD is dirty, or upside down. Neither of which match my case.

My radio model # is 86210-47270. I checked the fuses under the dashboard but not the fuses in the engine. I don't expect the engine fuses to be harmful to my CD player anyway. Everything else works great. My 12v does read 11.7v so I'm going to change it soon.

Whats y'alls diagnosis? I want to play CDs and I don't like the Infotainment screens so they're out of the question.
