Took car in for minor front bumper work -- bumper didn't align quite right and they replaced front bumper support.

On pickup, car had PCS warning light on.

They have said to bring it back and they will diagnose, but before they try to rip me off, could the work they did on the front bumper have caused this?

They also replaced high beam bulb, side markers, and low beam.

When I take the car back, I'd like to know a little something so that they can't easily BS me.

Use a scanner to read the trouble codes. Then you will know the problem being reported by the car. This is what the dealership will do when you take the car back to the dealership.

PCS (Pre-Collision System) sounds definitely related to front bumper work.

One time I had a front bumper off (previous car, looking for windshield washer fluid leak), and when reassembling managed to plug a turn signal wire into windshield washer pump and vice versa. Went for a drive and all was fine, 'til I turned on left turn signal, and got windshield washer fluid squirting...

I put my OBD scanner on it -- no codes.

Took it into the dealership this morning. Service writer said that when the tech was repairing the bumper, he hit "toggle" and didn't turn it back on it. Now that makes no sense, as I don't think there is a physical toggle switch. But does it make sense that he would have toggled it off in the software to repair the front bumper?

Given my trust level of the dealership, I wouldn't put it past them to just cut the wire for the PCS light and claim problem solved! lol
