Someone has already had a roof leak on a Prius Prime 2024. I have 3 water infiltration spots around the roof handle behind the driver. I am looking for possible causes of water infiltration. Thank.
Your usual suspects: - Drainage for the sunroof/moonroof getting clogged - Seals for the sunroof/moonroof going bad - Seals for the glass roof going bad if you have that
I had to look up 'roof handle' since I'm obviously not cultured enough to know what those are. In the deep South region of the USA we call those.....(*)...um.....'Oscar Sierra' handles. Either way? This should be a warranty issue for a 2024. I've had to erase my last 4 comments after that, but I will try to be polite. If you cut a large hole in your roof then you 'may' weaken that structure. Placing a......um (*) large load on a 'roof handle' may torque the assembly in such a way as to allow for water under pressure to enter into the people compartment - like, while you're driving in the rain. AND...yeah. I get it. This is usually more of an American thing - since they 'grow 'em bigger' down here. If you do not have a sun-roof then this is almost certainly a factory defect. Even a lard-butt American yanking on the 'OS' handle while trying to haul themselves out of the cramped confines of a Prius-sized car should not cause a windshield (wind screen, in polite company) to leak.
The vehicle does not have a sunroof, a glass roof or even a solar battery on the roof, it is a roof while metal. In addition, the handle has never been used. Yes, it is guaranteed and probably a factory defect and I wonder if other owners have already had this problem.
