I got the P1121 Error Code on my 2009 Prius while in Texas for a trip recently and have been calling my normal places to get this fixed and have been quoted much higher then I anticipated that I would need to pay for this. Looking online paying approx. $300 is about what I was thinking this would cost and I have been quoted much higher at about $580. I am going to drive down to Toyota and see what they say later this week but I wanted to see if anybody in the area had a good recommended mechanic that won't overcharge me. I am in Rogers area more specifically.
I'll be glad to help you. I can fix it in your driveway for $430 plus tax. That includes parts, labor, and travel. I'll also check your maintenance items and let you know if I find something that needs attention. Just give me a call if you want to get together.
Vysse, this response of mine is quite late for your original post trying to find a good Prius mechanic in NW Arkansas, but I'm writing it for any who might look up this question later, because it's important for most of us to know of a qualified and trustworthy Prius mechanic when we can find one. I have 2 Prius cars - a gen 2 and a gen 3. Was very fortunate to find out about Tim Jacob of Jacob Automotive LLC. After talking with him for a little while, two things became apparent to me. First, the guy has decades of specialized experience with all models of Prius hybrids and it shows. (He's in process of writing a book about the topic.) Second was that he has a quality that most of us have a lot of regard for - honesty. He saved my wifes car thousands of dollars of work with a simple preventative fix. It's too long of a story for here, but I can see why some people that know about his expertise drive an more than an hour to the new shop he built recently. It's worth it when you can find someone who knows your Prius that well and can add years of life to it. Tim J is not in NW Arkansas- but he's within an hour or so of that depending on where one lives. His shop is in Golden MO, which is in SW Missouri. Having had the experience I had, I'd be easily be willing to drive from Bentonville or Fayetteville to him. If fact, now he's the only guy I would consider. He goes by Jacob Automotive LLC and I think someone could find his website by looking up that name, or something like "Prius mechanic Golden MO" or a similar search if it helps. He knows battery reconditioning very well and also has some great Prius tips on one of his web pages dedicated to that topic. Just knowing those could save someone thousands of $ like it did me and my wife. Hope that helps someone.
