Your latch looks secured and on properly, I wonder if it’s the big plug that you removed from the inverter that isn’t plugged in properly for the engine to run. I think your 12v battery seems to be fine because it turns on and the lights doesn’t look dim. I’d recheck the orange wire side to see if things aren’t plugged in properly or the engine side where the connectors aren’t plugged in.

Yeah, I've already unplugged the battery and removed the safety pin. Will wait for the capacitors to drain (they probably have already) bust out the screenshots of the manual and check the inverter. That dr. prius app shows that the hybrid batters are good, which is great. Thanks for the callout!

If that does not work disconnect the high voltage at the compressor, inspect and try with it off after a 10 second 12v disconnect. The 12v cycling can be done at the fuse box by unplugging the white cable on top. Realize a Ready usually takes a couple of attempts after cycling 12v as the networks establish.

This video at 28:50 shows the inverter cable installation and the cover interlock connector.

    Good tips. Thanks.

EDIT: Ok. I never knew about this high voltage clip. Wow. Learn something new every day! Thanks again for the tip.

Ok. Engine runs. I drove it down the street to discount tire to get some air in my tire. On the drive back, I noticed the coolant light on. It was red. Coolant was overheating. Got a P0117 error code from the scanner reader. I replaced the water pump with a TRQ Engine Water Pump. So the water pump is new. I didn't replace the thermostat though. I've just ordered a new Asin thermostat, and water pump. The thermostat arrives tomorrow, so I will replace that and hope that will solve the issue. When I replaced the coolant I did bleed the system.

So yeah... the saga continues. Could also be a faulty ETC sensor. So will order that as well.

Tired of working on this thing, ngl. lol

Yeah. I thinking it's that water pump not working. I got that Asin water pump on the way. Hopefully that works.

I've replaced the thermostat and water pump with Asin thermostat and water pump respectively. I burped the coolant for 50 minutes, revving occasionally. Checked that there were no leaks, and then went for a small test drive. I was a bit nervous because the last test drive I had, after about 10 minutes, the warm coolant light came on as well as the check engine light. This time.... nothing.

Smooth drive. I think I can finally close this head gasket chapter and it's on to the next thing.

Big ups Prius chat. You all helped!

    On to the next one!!!

Take a deep breath, and count to a thousand by sixes!
Wanting it to be done, is when you make mistakes! (y)

Step away, take a break...... You certainly don't want to make any mistakes.
