Hi Guys. I have a 2024 Prius. For some reason the Prius interior rear seat light won’t turn off. It usually turns off automatically. It’s still on. Can anyone help. All the doors are closed properly.
Most dome light has a 3-position switch. Off, door-on, and full-on; you need to move it back to door-on or off. On some American cars, you can turn the dome lamp on using a dash board switch - Check your OM for details. Check the index for dome lamp operations.
Most likely: You or someone else bumped the control switches and turned them on. The on/off buttons are located in between the two lights; one button for each light. Other possibility is you touched the main interior light button on the upper console and turned all the lights on. But you didn't mention the front map lights being on, so this one isn't very likely.
That I know. The switches are off. They turned off after a few minutes. I’m having the same situation again. Car is off. Rear roof lights are still on.
Set on 'door', the interior lights come on when I stand close to the car with the keys in my pocket. You can switch the rear lights and they stay on, which is odd, but what you're doing is changing them from 'door-activated' to 'on'. Once you've done that, they don't go off when you close the door. Maybe that's what you are experiencing.Try switching only one rear light to see the difference in how they function.
Don't know about gen 5, but my gen 3 has both a front dome light and an amidships dome light, and the front one has a 3-position switch (off, auto, on) and the mid one has, if I remember right, a 2-position switch (auto, on).
