Hello, I'm a new member. I have a 2007 base model. My Toyota dealer says my battery is done at 223k+. I prefer to replace it with a new factory unit. Most Toyota dealerships selling on the internet list the batteries at over $3,000. However, I found a few that sell a unit, part no. G9510-47033 for about 1,700 to 1,800. The local Toyota parts department says its Japanese domestic market product. Only problem is, it seems most dealerships don't want anything to do with G9510-47033. They list it as incompatible or not for sale. A few dealers have it available but most are in the coastal cities. I'm in Minnesota and would like to install it myself. I would like to hear any thoughts from the members. Thanks!
The 47033 is the most recent updated part number for the Gen 2 HV battery and replaces the 47031 model. It's great to see prices are coming back down. They had jumped to 3k+ the first day of 2025. Check this link. Believe it or not ....$1800 + core and it looks like they ship G9510-47033 Genuine Toyota BATTERY ASSY, HEV SU or this one, but don't know if they ship G9510-47033 - Battery - 2004-2009 Toyota Prius | OEM Genuine Toyota Parts
I'm on the west coast with my 2007 Touring. The HV battery part number you have is correct so not sure what he is smoking. The battery part is indeed Japanese since it is not produced in the USA. You can review my post here https://www.priuschat.com/threads/2007-rtod-hybrid-battery-replacement.255503/ I purchased from my local dealer parts for about $2k.When you call your local dealer parts counter give them this part number and ask for a quote and if he can sell this part over the counter for retail. There is a mandatory $1350 core charge so be sure to ask about how they handle the core charge return.
