The suspected fakes were used in the engine once rebuilt, and I think causing the engine to run rich and get carbon on top of the pistons in under 600 miles.

The biggest tell is looking at the side.

The suspected fake, the raised plastic where the numbers are stamped seems to sit flush at the top with the rounded plastic injector body. The OEM one is raised all the way around.

The suspected fake, the numbers are stamped into a sunken in area, on the OEM fuel injector, the numbers are cleanly stamped and don't sink into the plastic.

The fuel inlet filters on the suspected fake are also an entirely different design.

The suspected fake is 0.1mm longer than the OEM and .1g less in weight.

One would think the counterfeiters would get that part right.

Look at ECM data for engine operation. What is short term and long term fuel trim numbers at: hot idle, fast idle, moderate acceleration, and at steady cruise (say 50 mph)?

If everything for engine controls works "like it left the factory", then fuel trim numbers should stay fairly close to 0%. If there is any condition that affects fuel control, fuel trim will change, (+) values show the ECM is adding fuel, (-) values show the ECM is subtracting fuel.

Still, eBay is a good source for "fake" or bad parts.

Long term fuel trim over 50 miles was 5%.
    Is this good or bad?

You also need to share the short-term FT. The summed total of the LTFT and the STFT is what is significant.

    Interesting data point...

After replacing my fake fuel injectors, MPG did not improve.
After leaving the 12v battery unhooked all night, it went way up.

I suppose the old injectors were operating along a bad "fuel map" and resetting the ECU by leaving the battery unhooked reset the fuel map?

I cruised at 35mph down a long road and was getting MPG's in the low to mid 60's.

Do this is new set of Asians or old from before! Yes I imagine if you change the injectors you might all to clear out the business so it can mapp new parts into system as it may do . Or it will hurry the process
