No, only 2004 thru 2009 1.5 liter engines will work.

Bought a used 2005 Prius with around 60,000 mils on it in 2010 for around 10K. In Texas, near Houston/Dallas. Fairly hot climate. After that I have been living in Portland Oregon. The sales people tried to push an extended warranty on me. I said "I prefer the risk" hehehe. Prius had a very good reputation already at that point. Fast forward to 2025. I have over 300,000 miles on the car. I had to replace the large battery once and have had other repairs, nothing too big, just repair due to aging. I did lose the cat. converter to theft and installed a shield over the new one.

I almost want the car to die so I can buy a Tesla. I love the Prius for the life expectancy and the gas mileage. I also love it for the fold down back seats. I have fit many a large object into that car, never having to rent a truck. Than you Toyota! Hoping to get another 100k - 200K miles out of it. .I'm going to gift my Prius to my 16 year old son in about 3 years if it's still alive.

Yes, it burns oil, around a quart every 5,000 miles.
Only get around 38MPG now. Was around 42-43MPG when I bought it.
I've recommended used Prius to many people.
