Hey all, So I recently needed to swap batteries, got a new assembly from Toyota and was checking everything over, noticed old battery ecu had one terminal with discoloration. No visible corrosion really but it isn’t gold like the rest of the pins. I checked inside the ecu and all the pins looked perfect still. Wanted to post the picture and ask for opinions on if it’s worth swapping out for an ecu with no corrosion/discoloration whatsoever. Pin in question is 4th pin in from the right. Thanks!
Are the ebay computers generally reliable if you make sure its the correct part # and has no corrosion? Does any other part of these fail like the caps? Hate that a new one is $900. Will likely try to find an ebay one if that tends to work for folks.
I've rebuilt hundreds of batteries. Give it a quick shot of contact cleaner and call it a day. That pin is in better shape than 90% of the ones out there. I'm pretty picky when it comes to customer batteries and would have NO problem using that one, especially since I use a new harness every time. You have a new harness with your new battery, so you're good to go. If you want to see some jacked up pins, I can throw some photos up. They'll make you laugh that you were worried about yours when you see them
