    Sounds like fun.

But we younger folk need to just work harder. I don't have a house or money saved for retirement. Anymore I only have the time for us to fly in one day, spend the next with family, then fly out the next. Even though one job gives me vacation days the other doesn't. And usually when work is slow at one job it's in full swing at the other. No more road trips for us.

What do you need to travel for?

For about two years in the 1970's I was stationed at what was then Lowry AFB right outside of Denver CO.

I spent many a weekend roaming the Rocky Mountains camping and fishing. I saw some of the most remote and beautiful places I have ever seen in my life there. Many a night in autumn I fell asleep to the wind blowing through the pine and aspen trees in our camps.

Being stationed in Colorado and Nebraska is why I still take vacations out west, it is beautiful and takes me back to a wonderful time in my life. My family very much enjoys those areas also.

True. But also another reason to detest traveling.

On the other hand we are looking to possibly move to Michigan as buying a house here is impossible.

Full Self Driving is my “Johnny Cab.” The cabin cam nags me look forward like him. It drives ‘with’ traffic or I can choose ‘chill’ or ‘hurry.’ Also, avoid highway or include them. I can even adjust for alternate routes.

I finally got my passport and look forward to visiting our Canadian ‘cousins.’ Perhaps our moderator. I have a “I ❤️ Canada” shirt and know how to convert currency.

I use their ATMs, quickest and easiest way or go to a grocery store and use the cash back option. That's a bit limiting, but get you a few geeses in a pinch. Most towns along the border will take USD and give you change in "Canadian geese"; though that's usually a very bad exchange rate. Just make sure it's a bank attached ATM, NOT something that's at a 7-eleven. Watch out for ATM fees & foreign exchange fees - That would depend on your bank card and account standing.

    Hope this helps.....

If you are driving, I assume your car does km/h for the speed too?

I live on a corner lot (where there's a stop sign) every time I back out of the driveway, I've gotta check up the street, down the street, up the other street, and around the corner. By that time, I've gotta check all the directions again. People blow through the stop sign and are up my nice person before I can react. They look left, and drive right, some without even slowing down. It's only when they have to turn left do they stop.

Years ago, my wife was mowing the front lawn. She stepped off the curb a little to turn the mower around and got hit by a car that didn't stop at the sign. (Just bumped, he hit the brakes at the last minute when he finally looked where he was driving.) He was lucky it was her. I would have been tempted to start the mower and throw it into his driver's side window. There's even enough room for me to park on the street, and a lot of people on my street do. I have a hedge on the corner, and I tried growing it higher. I felt that if people couldn't easily see down the street they might actually stop. I got a notice from the city that said I could either trim my hedge, or they would - then charge me.

I get it. 99.9% of the time, you can look left and not have to stop. But I live on that 0.1%.

I want to find out as well as to what extent AutoPilot and Full Self Driving work in Canada. And of course, what the EV charge rates are in 'geese' per kWh.

The last time my late wife and I drove in Canada, I could not get her to understand that 'KPH" != 'MPH" until she took a curve 'brown staining' too fast. I had no problem converting in my head but she didn't have skills in that area. It certainly made for a lot of exciting drives and sold me on using the ferries.

Yeah, I'll keep looking to those and pestering some of them as I have been doing.

I was in touch quite often with the local housing authority until they decided to disband it recently. I'm not sure what that will mean going forward.

So far there haven't been any "affordable housing" options to buy that were cheap enough for us to actually qualify and afford. When you're looking at a downpayment that would be close to what your total house price really should be, it's not easy to get your foot in the door. There were some condos that were built for affordable housing purposes that were just a bit too high out of our range to afford as far as monthly payments go (apparently they won't approve you if you're house payment is going to be over 50% of your income). And they had only one car parking spot and no yard.

It would be cheaper to move 100 miles one way, but then you're out in the middle of nowhere and have to commute back to a place like here that's 100 miles away, and I hate commuting, especially during winter.
