I know this thread is several years old, but I'm hoping you're still on here! Where did you take your Prius to get worked on? I'm looking at a different but also expensive issue (C1391 code, probably needs a new actuator and/or accumulator), and I live near-ish to Binghamton. I'm having trouble finding an independent mechanic who will work on a Prius. Thanks!

Wow! Just found this earlier thread of mine (I’ll tell you why soon) and thought I’d post a follow-up. I did replace the HV batteries and drove the ‘12 to about 460,000 miles before it basically rotted out from under me.
I purchased a ‘15 to replace it with. I figured it had a few parts I may someday need (it still ran great). In time I decided to give it to a customer for a derby car (of course the rules wouldn’t allow it - so it got scrapped). I commenced to hit a dear - pretty sure I could’a used the fender and hood. Now ‘we’ have another ‘12 needing an HV battery…STUPID STUPID ME.
    Oh Well….

New Question; what after market battery options have you all had good / bad experience with. I again need to do something very soon (not dealer).
    Thanks

I took my car to Williams Toyota in Sayre (purchased it there as well). I know they now own the Binghamton dealership.
