You will need some one who can clone . Is the grey sticker inside remote on the lil rectangle it goes on under first slide ? This is you're FCC I'd code
Need more information. What exactly is the problem? The Prius came with the SKS system or it didn't. The ones that do have a black button on the front door handles and hatch. If your car has SKS, you need the fob that supports SKS (aka keyless go). There is a separate immobilizer ID "chip" embedded in the fob of both the SKS and non-SKS fobs. It's a small 5 sided black plastic chip (rectangular shape with a corner bevel). This unique chip is paired to the car's immobilizer ignition system which allows your fob to start the car when inserted into the key slot.
That's what I thought. But does Toyota sell just the ID chip Or do you need to buy the Key assembly. Like I said I purchased it frum a customer and only got a clone key. But thank you for the Info. Toyota can't tell me if the chip comes with the new key set.
If you order the factory replacement with the silver logo, the dealer can program it. It should include the ID chip. I have purchased three smart fobs off of Aliexpress, all are SKS clones and include a blank blade. The first one included an ID chip that was not recognized in the car. I surmise it is a blank chip that needs to be cloned off of the original chip using a special tool. The 2 other ones I purchased from a different seller both included ID chips and both were fully programmed to my 2007 Prius using the "chicken dance" method. It cost less than $20. Store name YRCARKIT Official Store. To perform the chicken dance method, you do need a working original key. Without any keys, you need a special tool to put the car into lost key mode to pair a new key.
If you buy a new key from Toyota the complete key fob it will come with a board it's green has the white looking chip thing with the numbers . And the trapezoidal chip too and the grey is codes on sticker inside too . And electronics folks can decipher . Locksmith w transponder chip burner if you will can generally fix you up. The fob is complete as new and costly . Might but on eBay or check local car lots they have boxes of remotes to trash .
When buying off eBay or AliExpress you have to be careful if you understand how some this works . Welp it may help . Reading the first 8 pages of the SKS or non SKS is a good start. a locksmith with electronic tools and whatnot can read numbers in cars systems and clone accordingly. Or burn new chip with the number the vehicle expects
